The Shops of the Antique Mile - Plumed Serpent

When I decided a few years back to leave the more conventional retail environment I'd been in my whole life, I found inspiration from my late mother and my stepmother, who each in their own way instilled in me a love of beautiful old things.

My mother always said she'd like to set me up in an antique store, and in essence she did, as I invested a large part of what she left me into what has become the Plumed Serpent. One of our favorite stops locally was the now departed Hispaniae in Old Town, packed full of treasures from Mexico. However, I stay awat from contemporary Mexican imports and all the Talavera pottery. Instead I search for unique older folk art, from California as well as Mexico.

This is a business that enables me to indulge all my bad habits, so in my store you will find many other things that I just happen to like, such as Depression glass, beer and soda trays, Victorian furniture, and one of my biggest weaknesses, jewelry. I have old Mexican silver and lots of celluloid and Bakelite. There is also a section of midcentury New Mexico souvenirs.

Come and visit. Help yourself to a cup of coffee or tea as you browse or take a breather on the patio. I look forward to seeing you.

Lisan,
Plumed Serpent

The Shops of the Antique Mile: Apples of Gold Antiques & Uniques, LLC

OUR STORY

In 2013, a series of life changing events took place in our lives. After losing both Greg’s parents, we acquired many of their belongings including collectibles, antiques, and fine art. It was at that point in our lives when a door opened up for us to become vendors at a new thrift shop in Albuquerque. Greg ended up managing that store which actually rekindled a love, eye, and talent he acquired from his mother, a sought-after interior designer. Within a year that store closed, so we decided to step out in faith and opened Apples of Gold in November of 2015! We are thankful we followed our heart and will never forget our small beginnings!
Note: The phrase "Apples of Gold" was inspired to us because we believe it was truly God's perfect timing (fitly, perfect) to open our business. It comes from Proverbs 25:11 "A word fitly spoken is like 'apples of gold' in settings of silver."

Note: Apples of Gold has select items periodically on sale from 10 to 30% off but we are ALWAYS open for offers! Come in to see what we have at 6211 4th St NW Suite #24 in the Guadalupe Plaza or call Greg at 505-463-8155.  We're  open Mon-Friday 11:00 AM-5:00 PM; Saturday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM; & closed Sundays. You may also visit us on Facebook, Albuquerque Craigslist, Offerup.com, or
www.applesofgoldantiques.com for any updates on new merchandise.
Thank you ;)
